Manage Project Collaborators
Overview
Projects associated with an organization are managed using a flexible, on-chain permissions system powered by Dao Dao.
Behind the scenes, each project is organized as a Project DAO, which simply means that project roles, permissions, and collaboration are managed transparently and securely on-chain.
You don’t need to understand the technical details — just know that this setup allows for clear role management, shared decision-making, and built-in accountability.
1. Access Your Project
Log in with your Keplr wallet (you must have a Regen address).
Open your organization dashboard and select the project you want to manage.
Go to the Members section of the project.
2. Add Collaborators
You can add collaborators in two ways, depending on their role:
For Owners, Admins, or Editors: Enter the member’s Regen address (Keplr wallet). These roles require an on-chain address because they have higher-level permissions and can perform on-chain transactions on behalf of the project.
For Authors or Viewers: You can invite them using either a Regen address or an email address. Email invitations allow non-technical users or external collaborators (like data contributors or buyers) to join easily.
Once you’ve added the collaborator:
Assign the appropriate role (see below).
Confirm the addition.
The member will receive an invitation and gain access based on their role.
All role assignments, voting, and governance actions are recorded and can also be managed directly in the DAO DAO app.

3. Project Roles and Permissions
Owner
Full control of the project and all DAO functions.
Cannot be removed by Admins.
Can manage members, funds, and project settings.
Admin
Nearly identical to Owner, but can be removed by the Owner.
Can manage:
Project funds in the DAO wallet.
Membership and roles.
Project settings and data posts.
Editor
Can create, edit, and publish project content.
Cannot manage members or funds.
Author
Can create and edit their own data posts.
Can delete or modify their own posts only.
Cannot manage members or make other project changes.
Cannot see the project portfolio, much less manage funds.
Viewer
Can view all project data, including private data posts.
Cannot see draft posts.
Cannot make edits or manage members.
Ideal for stakeholders (e.g., buyers or partners) who need access to view project information securely.
4. Best Practices
Assign Admin or Owner roles carefully, since these roles control membership and funds.
Invite non-technical collaborators (like authors or data reviewers) by email for simplicity.
Use the DAO DAO app to manage voting, membership changes, and governance proposals.
Ensure all key contributors (Owners, Admins, Editors) have a Keplr wallet and Regen address.
5. Managing Members
To update or remove members, open the Members section of the project or manage them through DAO DAO.
Only Owners and Admins can modify roles or remove members.
All actions are recorded on-chain, ensuring transparency and traceability across your project’s history.
